Max Jahufer (he/him) stands as a proud a trans man, multifaceted artist, writer, actor, singer, creative and the visionary Director and Founder of FutureStudio, a Melbourne-based digital and design agency. Born in the vibrant city of Lisbon, Portugal, Max embodies a rich cultural heritage, inheriting a blend of influences from his Sri Lankan father and Portuguese mother.

Max’s musical talent emerged early, captivating audiences with his magnetic performances. His breakthrough came in 2010 when he fearlessly competed in The X Factor, earning a coveted spot in Ronan Keating’s Top 6.

In tandem with his musical pursuits, Max pursued academic excellence, completing a Master of Architecture at RMIT in 2010. His passion for architecture coexisted with his love for music, creating a unique intersection of creativity that fueled his artistic expression.

In 2022 he rekindled his love for writing as he co-wrote the script of the feature film “A Savage Christmas,”. This project not only marked his return to the creative process but also signalled his acting debut as lead character Kane in the film. Max’s commitment to authentic representation shone through, as he ensured the trans voice was heard, contributing to the script from a trans perspective.

Max’s involvement in the film not only showcases his artistic versatility but also underscores his dedication to promoting inclusivity and ensuring authentic representation in the entertainment industry.

Max’s journey has not been without its challenges. Struggling his whole life, with extreme pelvic pain, and periods prior to transitioning. In his early 30’s, he was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. It has always significantly impacted his daily life since he can remember.

Despite the physical and emotional toll, Max’s determination never wavered, the flare ups and symptoms persisted but Max continued to pursue his passions. His struggle with his gender identity further complicated his relationship with endo, a daily reminder of a body he didn’t want to inhabit.

In 2020 he made the decision to transition to become and align with the gender he has always felt he has been.

Although endometriosis has always been in the shadows, the hormone treatment helped with his dysphoria and with his symptoms. Improving his ability to cope with the disease that he shared his body with. This experience has deepened his empathy and fuels his desire to advocate for better healthcare and awareness for those within the LGBTQI+ community living with endometriosis.

Max’s resilience and strength in the face of adversity and pain has not only defined his personal journey but has also inspired many. His story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of representation and inclusivity in all spheres of life.
