Karan Bangera
VIC
Karan Bangera is a town planner, endurance cyclist, and community advocate based in Melbourne. Known for his extroverted nature and genuine love of connecting with people, Karan has always been driven by the idea that small, consistent actions can create meaningful change – whether that’s through the way we build cities, physical endurance or the way we support each other and make change.
Karan’s journey into endometriosis awareness began when his partner was finally diagnosed after a long and painful period of uncertainty. What should have been a pathway to answers became months of being dismissed, misdiagnosed, and left to navigate relentless pain without clarity or support. Watching someone he loves go through that – physically, emotionally, and financially – had a profound effect on Karan.
He often felt helpless, unsure how to support her beyond simply being present. But as he learned more, listened more, and spoke to others, he realised how common her experience was. Far too many women endure this in silence, and far too many partners feel powerless to help. That didn’t sit right with him.
In response, Karan partnered with Endometriosis Australia and completed a 4,000 km solo charity ride from Perth to Sydney to raise funds, awareness, and conversation. His goal wasn’t just to highlight the condition—it was to encourage more open dialogue, especially among men, and to make sure women feel seen, believed, and supported.
Karan hopes to continue speaking openly about endometriosis and amplify the lived experiences of those living with and those supporting people who are suffering. He hopes to contribute to a future where no one feels unheard or overlooked. He believes that awareness, understanding, and genuine communication can drive significant change – and he’s committed to being part of that movement.
