Endometriosis Australia welcomes Victoria Bowring as General Manager
Seasoned health sector leader brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the role
Endometriosis Australia (EA) is pleased to welcome Victoria Bowring as its new General Manager, bringing more than 20 years’ experience across leadership, governance and operational management.
Victoria joins EA following a decade in the health and not-for-profit sector, where she has built a strong reputation across research, advocacy and education. She has led organisations at the intersection of community need, clinical research and public policy, with a focus on addressing systemic challenges through evidence-led advocacy and strong organisational leadership.
She has held executive roles with organisations including the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation and Stillbirth Foundation Australia, guiding mission-driven work into sustainable, high-impact operations and building high-performing, values-led teams.
Diagnosed with endometriosis at 16, Victoria brings a personal understanding of the challenges many Australians face, including delayed diagnosis and dismissal within the healthcare system.
Endometriosis Australia Board Chair, Monica Forlano, said Victoria’s appointment marks an important step for the organisation.
“Victoria brings a rare combination of leadership experience and sector expertise,” Ms Forlano said.
“Her understanding of the healthcare landscape and commitment to evidence-led advocacy position her strongly to lead Endometriosis Australia’s next phase. We are very pleased to welcome her to the team.”
In her role, Victoria will lead Endometriosis Australia’s strategic direction, partnerships and national advocacy efforts, with a focus on education, research and improving outcomes for those impacted by endometriosis.
Victoria Bowring said she is proud to join Endometriosis Australia at a critical time for awareness and reform.
“Endometriosis affects every aspect of a person’s life, yet it remains widely misunderstood,” Ms Bowring said.
“Having lived with the condition, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of delayed diagnosis and the importance of informed, evidence-based care. It has shaped my belief in the need for organisations that not only advocate and educate, but do so with rigour, credibility and a long-term focus.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team and our partners to continue building momentum and driving meaningful change.”
Victoria’s appointment comes as Endometriosis Australia continues to expand its national programs and partnerships, strengthening its focus on awareness, research and advocacy.
