Endometriosis Australia CEO Maree Davenport was live on 10News First’s Midday speaking about the latest endometriosis data released by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.
Maree discusses the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) 2023 Report on Endometriosis, which reveals that 1 in 7 (14%) of women, girls and those assigned female at birth are diagnosed with #endometriosis by the ages of 44-49 years. Meanwhile, the average diagnostic time remains between 6 to 8 years.
Maree also discussed the importance of raising awareness of the disease so that those who are at risk of fertility, and those whose endometriosis affects every facet of their life, can get answers.
It’s about “access, equity, cost-effectiveness, and investment from both State and the Federal Government”, said Maree.
