Jessica Ünal
VIC
Jessica’s journey with Endometriosis began when she was just 13, but it wasn’t until the age of 20 that she was diagnosed via laparoscopy. After years of battling painful symptoms, she was later diagnosed with Diaphragmatic/Toracic Endometriosis in 2012.
Through the countless surgeries and challenges she’s faced, Jessica’s mission has remained steadfast: to ensure no woman fights this debilitating condition alone. She is the founder of Melbourne Endometriosis Sisters, a vibrant support community dedicated to empowering women who are living with Endometriosis. For Jessica, it’s more than just about support – it’s about creating a space where women can rise together, share their stories, and reclaim their health.
Self-advocacy has been one of the most powerful lessons Jessica has learned. She believes that knowing your body, your worth, and standing up for yourself are non-negotiable in the fight against Endometriosis.
Jessica married her high school sweetheart and, in the following years, welcomed two beautiful children. Despite the overwhelming joy of motherhood, her biggest challenge today is balancing the daily demands of caring for two toddlers while managing the constant pain of Endometriosis. She’s preparing for her 9th laparoscopy, holding onto hope that better days are ahead.
Jessica’s voice has become a source of strength and encouragement for others, providing a supportive space where people can stand up for themselves and keep fighting against Endometriosis.
