We’d like to thank Elle for being brave and sharing her story with Australia and the world.

By sharing your story you too can make a difference. Elle, thank you for helping raise awareness of endometriosis.

With Anthony being in the public eye, it is difficult to know if you should talk about something so close to you and typically unspoken about. On one hand it is intimately personal for my husband and myself. On the other, I had to ask myself, do I search for that silver lining in this whole ordeal and share our story, with the hope that it may educate others. And maybe, just maybe, I can find others who are in similar situations and learn from them too. If I can bring attention to a typically “taboo” subject and share our story, maybe it will make just one person act and save themselves a future of uncertainty. I have learnt it is not common for someone my age to be doing IVF nor would anyone expect we have been doing it for 3 years now. But it’s true when they say you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. This is our story.
