Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)
Do you offer financial support to assist with the costs of living with endometriosis?
While we are deeply committed to supporting individuals affected by endometriosis, we are unable to provide direct financial assistance to individuals. We are aware of the high costs involved and empathise with the challenges you are facing.
Endometriosis Australia are dedicated to offering support in other meaningful ways. We focus on raising awareness, increasing education and raising funds for endometriosis research. We recently announced our scholarship program to train Endometriosis Specialty Nurses (Endo Nurses). The initiative aims to deliver 100 trained Endo Nurses to communities in remote and rural areas around Australia, to better support those with endometriosis. We will also be starting to deliver a Workplace Accreditation Program later in 2024, to help workplaces support employees living with endometriosis
Where can I find endometriosis support groups?
Whilst Endometriosis Australia does not deliver support groups, our website has a list of support groups that may be of assistance to you. Additionally, our Facebook page also has a Closed Discussion Group. This is a forum where those with Endo can share their experiences and ask questions for education purposes.
Can you recommend a GP or surgeon for endometriosis?
As an advocacy, awareness and education organisation, our ability to provide individual medical advice for your specific question is limited. Every person’s medical needs are individual and as such so should be your medical advice and treatment.
Endometriosis Australia is unable to offer a list of General Practitioners, Surgeons, Allied Health practitioners, or similar. This is due to medico-legal reasons as we are not an organisation which provides accreditation or training for medical professionals.
We cannot give referrals, however, encourage you to speak with your GP or specialist and utilise the tools we have available on our website to help in your discussions with your health professionals, including EndoZone to help you check your symptoms.
The information provided by Endometriosis Australia is general information only and does not constitute as professional medical or health advice. Always seek the advice of your doctor or other qualified health care professional with questions regarding your health or medical condition.

How can I help get endometriosis medications added to the PBS?
At Endometriosis Australia, we are actively engaged through the Endometriosis Action Group, which maintains ongoing communication with the Department of Health. Our primary focus is to advocate for medical advancements deserving inclusion in the PBS. The PBS undergoes continual evaluation, and its evolution is driven by a confluence of data, research, and advocacy efforts. Rest assured, we recognise the financial strain of self-funding these medications and remain steadfast in our advocacy for the well-being of our Endo community.
